Someday’s & Tomorrow’s NEVER Come…

…What are you going to do about TODAY???

I can’t tell you how many years I said I would start my diet on Monday or January 1st or the most Famous…TOMORROW! And what then did I do to prepare for that “diet”? I ate like a piggy. Trying to get alllllll the things I would not be able to have again in life…ever, ever, ever. Oh what a sad day…me and my mourning, my pity party and my food. Leave us alone and let me eat in private.

Sometimes the “diet” would start the next day but rarely lasted long. So what happens again? Set a new day to start which means…you guessed it…another FINAL goodbye to foods that I will never ever get to eat…boohoo! I wonder how many pounds I packed on in my preparing to start a diet??? It sickens me to think of it.

So…what about you? Are you going to fill today with excuses? Or stuffing the food down in preparation for starting tomorrow or someday? Or are you going to make the most out of today? It is all up to YOU…we have that choice even if our selection to choose from is not the best, we still can do our best. It doesn’t have to be filled with deprivation and massive exercise to do well. Just start by making the right choices.

What are you going to do with TODAY?

My first blog to read this morning… and what a blog it is. Uplifting and motivating.

And here you were just a couple weeks ago struggling and fighting it and coming here seeking some motivation and uplifting yourself. See? You got what you needed, and you are now paying it forward.

I LOVE THAT! Great big HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGS to a real trooper that doesn’t know what the words “give up” means.

Thank you Debbi, for starting my work day out juuuuuuuuuuust right!

    Huggggggggggggggggggs,
    Shan

Deb, I think that you were writing about me!Yep that sounded like me about a year ago.
I have learned that this isn’t a diet but a life style change, that those foods you think you can’t have ,you can in moderation. I’ve learned threw weight watchers that you can eat anything you want.but you eventually learn that the high fat , fast foods are what consume your points and your left hungry.I’m still learning everyday of the the foods that make me feel good and help me stay focuced. I love the start my day with eggs.
Thanks for such a wondeerful blog.

Debbie this blog gets us all. I am actually fighting back the tears because it is overwhelming knowing how much everyone on hear gets it. My husband fights 10 pounds, and I fight 100. He just dosent get it. He dosent know the struggles we deal with, and the addiction to food. I wonder how many pounds I have put on starting to diet? We definately use dieting as a reason to binge without the guilt. NO MORE!!! Thanks for the awsome blog, it was truly eye opening!

Thank you for this blog!! I think that most of us have done this.

When I started my “diet” this time I started by just making better choices and then at the first of the year started WW with my family. We decided at Christmas that we would start on the first. My mom’s very first piece of advice was that we spend the next week getting ready for this new lifestyle. Purge the bad food, do some serious grocery shopping, and make plans. Not to go on one final binge. That really helped me, I spent a week figuring out points values, planning meals, and pseudo following the plan and I think that made all the difference for me.

I love seeing you so happy and motivating other! You are AWESOME!! :)

Another good one Debbi, I refuse to say I’m “dieting” anymore, when you diet, it ends, sometime, somehow–I’m working on a life style change. It’s still a struggle, I just plain HATE to exercise, that is worse for me than the food part. But I’m working on it!! Thanks for the inspiration.

Great blog…I too have done the pre-diet preparation many times, Uggghhhh. I probably put on at least 20 of my pounds or more just from doing that! Great motivational blog. Thank you hun.

I used to do that too. Let’s go out to eat and start our diets tomorrow… What a TRAP! I am DONE with that! Great blog Debbi!

Today I am going to eat food that is good for my body. I used to do that. I did it over and over again. Always having that “last” burger or pie or cake or ice cream sundae or bag of chips. On and on it goes. I agree 100% with your blog. I began this journey right before Christmas because I just finally decided that it was finally the time. I’m so glad I did.

  12. somemansdream @ January 29th, 2009

Guilty of that myself…thats why its not a shhh “diet”…its just looking for balance.
You go girl!! Love seeing you all fired up and making everyone thing. You know what, somewhere on here there is a person that was planning on doing just that thing and maybe these words will reach out and get them first!
    love ya, Debbie

  13. somemansdream @ January 29th, 2009

  14. kamaperry @ January 29th, 2009

Girl, your blogs are so inspiring, I love to see the growth in you! I have done this so many times, drowned my self in food, to “prepare” I am happy to say no more. I try each day to treat myself with respect. Hugs, Kama

When it comes to dieting, “someday” is the same as “never”! It really doesn’t pay to put it off. It’s too important, and too easy to slide back another day.

  16. easybreezy @ January 30th, 2009

OH that was me when I was getting ready to start my diet I would eat all the stuff I wouldn’t get to eat again only to end up stopping the diets. I’m happy to say when I started my lifestyle journey this last and final time I didn’t do that I was ready mentally I think I didn’t need the comfort of that food. Great blog :o)
